Let’s talk strategy. There are many ways to tackle search engine optimization, but the best way is with a plan in hand. For example, our firm regularly works with a large insurance company to procure new life insurance clients for that organization. As many folks know, life insurance is a tough market in general, let alone on the internet. So in addition to looking solely at going after key phrases that mention life insurance, we did some brainstorming. Who else is likely to purchase life insurance? We came up with three markets: people who are expecting a child, people who were just married, people who are starting businesses.
With a little planning, we came up with one primary source of traffic (of course purely life insurance) as well as three peripheral markets: expecting parents, newlyweds, small business owners. These markets allowed us to better understand how we could build upon our traffic mix.
