A traffic mix is a categorization of both the sources of traffic to your website as well as the demographics of the traffic. Using the example of the life insurance company, our traffic mix is broken out into four different categories with one being directly relevant and others being an indirect, or peripheral, category.
Understanding those categories and refining them with further detail will allow us to do a better job researching keywords. The better keywords that we find, the more qualified traffic we can bring to the target site.
