Playing off of the school’s serendipitous initials, Rensselaer was looking to get creative with a crowdfunding campaign centered around the number pi.
Pi-themed donation calculator allowed users to donate in multiples of pi
Countdown clock ticked down from 120,360 digits of pi
On-call support for the entire 33.5-hour campaign
KDG took RPI’s special pi-themed campaign and went wild creating a custom, fixed-fee fundraising platform they could use again and again.
If there is one thing that we love at The Kyle David Group, it’s good quirky fun. Rensselaer let us run free when developing the crowdfunding platform for RPi Day, and we didn’t let this opportunity slip by. In developing the actual giving site, we incorporated several pi-themed features.
“Thankfully, KDG embraced our existing concept from the beginning,” says Courtney Bissel Ellis, Associate Advancement Officer at Rensselaer. “They offered some truly original components to utilize on our site. We received positive feedback from alumni, students, faculty, staff and parents who were delighted with the attention to detail and fun, interactive features playing off our theme.”
While The Kyle David Group enjoyed expanding upon Rensselaer’s clever campaign theme, we were mindful not to expand their budget. In fact, we reduced it considerably. Unlike other crowdfunding platforms that charge a percentage of all donations raised, The Kyle David Group built Rensselaer a customized, fixed-fee solution they could use repeatedly for future campaigns without the threat of paying a vendor a percentage of collected funds.
“The level of customer service KDG provided from our first phone call to weeks past the campaign was nothing short of amazing. Our dedicated project manager helped us navigate unfamiliar territory with ease and handled every last detail, enabling us to focus on making the best decisions for our campaign,” describes Ellis. “We utilized on call support during our campaign, and KDG’s team was truly available at all hours to assist with anything we threw their way. With a streamlined process for accepting gifts, users reported a favorable experience and post-campaign reconciliation was seamless.”
